Bill J. Holec
Dr. Bill Holec was born and raised in Rapid City, where he attended Stevens High School and participated
in several sports including Post 22 baseball. He received a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in
Biology from the University of South Dakota in 1997, and 1998 respectively. He earned his Doctorate
with Distinction from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2002. He joined Drs. Tucker and
Kudrna in June of 2002.
Dr. Holec loves spending time with his family, Jennifer(wife), Hayden (son), and Makinley (daughter).
He is an avid supporter of his children’s passions, which include baseball, hockey and competitive dance.
Falon S. Young
Dr. Falon Young grew up in Mitchell, SD. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1999. After attending the University of South Dakota, she earned her Bachelor’s in Visual Science and her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL in 2006. Dr. Young joined Drs. Tucker, Kudrna, and Holec in September of 2007.
Dr. Young is a member of the South Dakota Optometric Society and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Young is involved in Business Network International here in Rapid City. She is very passionate about her work, the people she works with, and about being part of the Holec and Young Eye Care family. Dr. Young and her family,Tony, Finley, and Teegan enjoy camping, biking and traveling.
Lynn R. Tucker
Dr. Lynn Tucker was born in Forsyth, Montana, and grew up in Colville, Washington, where he was active in a variety of sports including football, baseball, basketball and track. As a young man, he helped his parents in their veterinary practice, which put him on the path to a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the Washington State University. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies in 1984, he attended Pacific University College of Optometry and graduated in 1988 with a Doctorate of Optometry Degree. During one of his residency rotations, he interned on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and fell in love with South Dakota, prompting his move to Rapid City to join the practice of Dr. Bert Corwin in 1988.
With over 30 years of optometric experience, Dr. Tucker has developed a broad base of health care knowledge, which he uses to enthusiastically accept the difficult cases that often present themselves in eye care. He particularly enjoys the challenges of the specialty contact lens field; ranging from keratoconus, bifocal, post surgical contact lenses; as well caring for those with ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic ocular pathology, and the diagnosis and treatment of cataracts. He is also an excellent source of guidance for patients considering laser-refractive surgery and works very closely with doctors specializing in this field.
Alisa Brogden
Dr. Alisa Brogden is a Louisiana native with 19 years of Optometric experience and a family history in eye care. A graduate of Southern College of Optometry, Alisa formerly worked in an optometry practice with her father, mother and younger brother before following her husband, Neil Brogden, also an optometrist, to the Rapid City area. Neil and Alisa have 4 children and they enjoy sports and the outdoors. You are likely to find her hiking or running when the weather is nice.

Payton Oxner
Dr. Payton Oxner was raised in Rapid City and is proud to return home and serve the community that shaped him. A graduate of Stevens High School (Class of 2017), he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in biology from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. During his undergraduate studies, he was involved in research exploring connections between the nervous system and conditions such as anxiety and depression.
Dr. Oxner earned admission to the Southern California College of Optometry, where he was honored to be the inaugural recipient of the Michael Sellers, OD, ’78 and Family Scholarship. He became the first student in the school’s 120-year history to receive a four-year renewable scholarship—after scoring in the 98th percentile on the Optometry Admissions Test (OAT). He will graduate in Spring of 2026.
With a well-rounded clinical foundation, Dr. Oxner has a special interest in managing ocular disease, fitting specialty contact lenses, and providing pediatric eye care. Dr. Oxner is strives to offer a top of the line clinic experience that is grounded in sincerity, grace, and enthusiasm.
Outside the office, Dr. Oxner enjoys spending time with his fiancée, as well as rock climbing, hiking, staying active, and volunteering at his local church.
Sydney Wendt
Dr. Sydney Wendt is originally from Gillette, Wyoming, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Physiology from the University of Wyoming in 2021. She will graduate from the Arizona College of Optometry in Spring of 2026 and looks forward to beginning her career in Rapid City at Holec and Young Eye Care in July. Dr. Wendt is passionate about providing comprehensive primary eye care and helping patients better understand their eye health.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys golfing, hiking, fishing, doing puzzles, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her fiancé, John. Dr. Wendt is excited to return to the region and looks forward to caring for the people of the Black Hills community.
